The World Keeps Turning

Thanksgiving is typically my favorite secular holiday of the entire year. With all that has happened in the last month or so, I believe this will be the first Thanksgiving where nothing will happen. No turkey dinner, no helping my mom with the cooking, no camaraderie in the family.

This is not to say that I have nothing to be thankful for. If possible, this is probably THE year I have most strongly felt God's presence in my life, ever. For that I will always be grateful and thankful. All other thanks, it seems, melt away in comparison.

I am very much looking forward to the retreat this weekend. I was thinking last night that it's been a few YEARS since the last time I went to a retreat just for the sake of going to a retreat. Technically, I've been to at least one retreat every year... but this is the first time in a while where I won't be serving. I'll actually just be there to soak in God =) For an entire weekend =) =) I can't wait.
