Hope for the Future

Going on a retreat for the sake of going and not having to serve was awesome. And relaxing, which makes that even more awesome-er. It was a real blessing to be able to withdraw from everything going on in my life temporarily and bask in the presence of God.

A sign of my growth, perhaps, is my lack of desire to figure out what I received this weekend. It was more of a reaffirmation of my love for God and how I really ought to prioritize my relationship with Him above all else. Truth be told, I've been getting impatient about my single-ness and it can throw my relationship with God off-course on occasion.

What was nice about this weekend was that the retreat ended on the First Sunday of Advent, reminding all of us that it's not an end, but a new beginning, coinciding with the new liturgical year. I hope to become a bit more structured in my lifestyle now that I'm beginning to adjust to my new environment. If all goes well, I'll be spending the next 4 weeks preparing my heart for the arrival of our Lord, when God stooped down to become Man, thus glorifying our own bodies and making them worthy of entrance into Heaven. Despite everything that's been going on, I can still enthusiastically look forward to what's to come. Praise God!
